The Yoga-Curious
Experience
your personal YogA Journey starts here
You've heard about all the life-changing benefits of yoga - better stress management, less reactivity, more presence.
You've even googled "beginner yoga near me”, the results popup but the second you open that studio's schedule and see "Vinyasa Flow," "Power Yoga," “Yin," "Restorative" - your chest tightens. Which one won't make you look like an idiot? You close the laptop. Maybe next week.
Or maybe you walk up to a studio, hand on the door handle, and turn around. Not today.
You shouldn't have to feel this way.
What if there was a way to start yoga without the anxiety that comes before you even walk in the door?
I think there is. That's why I created the Yoga-Curious Experience. This workshop will take the fear out of rolling out your mat for the first time (or starting again after years away) and give you the exact information you need to walk into your first class like you belong there.
Sound like you?
Terrified
Does googling "what to wear to yoga" send you down a rabbit hole of $100 leggings and panic about whether your sports bra is "yoga appropriate"? Do you imagine walking into a room full of people who've been doing this for years while you can't even touch your toes?
Worried
You've seen the Instagram poses. The perfect handstands. The impossible flexibility. And you're thinking: "I can barely sit cross-legged on the floor. What if I'm the only one who can't do it? What if everyone stares?"
Overwhelmed
Hot yoga. Gentle yoga. Flow. Yin. Hatha. Ashtanga. You don't know what any of it means. So you shut the laptop and walk away, telling yourself you'll figure it out later. (But later never comes.)
What if instead…
You walked into your first class knowing exactly what to expect - what the teacher will say, what the room will feel like, which props you actually need and which you don't.
You understood what yoga is actually about (spoiler: not Instagram-worthy poses), so you skip all that new student confusion and go straight to the parts that matter.
You knew which type of class and studio would serve YOU best - not your flexible friend, not the teacher's Instagram feed, but your actual body and your actual life.
You could tell within the first 10 minutes if this class and teacher were the right fit, saving yourself weeks of doubt, frustration, and wasted money on class packs you'll never use.
You showed up with the kind of mindset that makes yoga feel exciting instead of terrifying - because you know what you're walking into and why it matters.
Here's what you'll learn:
What yoga is really about
(and why you don't need to be flexible, spiritual, or wear expensive leggings)
How to select the right studio and yoga style that fits your body, your schedule, and what you actually want from a practice - not what someone else thinks you should want
What you really need to bring to class
(and what you absolutely don't, despite what that boutique studio's website says)
What that first class experience will actually be like - from the moment you walk in the door to the moment you walk out, so nothing catches you off guard
How to know if the class or teacher is a good fit
the specific things to pay attention to so you're not second-guessing yourself for days afterward
The type of mindset that will set you up for success
Because starting something new shouldn't feel like you're already behind
BONUS #1
We will end the first session with a short, guided practice that gives you a taste of what class actually feels like (in the privacy of your own home, where no one's watching)
BONUS #2
A follow up Q&A session 2 weeks after the initial workshop to answer any questions or concerns you have after your first real class
You'll have access to the recordings for 1 year, so you can watch them right before your first class for a confidence boost
“I have seen so many improvements in balance, flexibility, and breathing since I started yoga. Meg is helpful in making participants feel that yoga is for everyone and can be adapted to each individual's strengths.”

FAQ
WHAT WILL I NEED FOR THE FIRST WORKSHOP?
You’ll need a computer, floor space to do a short practice on, 2 large books (or yoga blocks if you have them), and comfortable clothes that you can move and breathe easily in. A yoga mat is optional.
WHAT FORMAT IS THE INSTRUCTION PROVIDED IN?
We will do each session online via Zoom. You can have your camera on or off. It's completely up to you.
HOW LONG WILL I HAVE ACCESS TO THE RECORDINGS?
You will have access to both recordings for 1 year. I will send out links to the recordings the day after each live session.
I HAVE SOME EXPERIENCE WITH YOGA. IS THIS WORKSHOP STILL FOR ME?
Yes! I’ll be coving things like yoga philosophy and how to tell if a teacher or studio is the best fit for your body and life. These are both things that don't always get discussed at length in the average yoga class. I will also be explaining the various styles of yoga and the benefits of each type. (Yoga is NOT all about handstands and mastering the splits.) Lastly, I will be covering basic ways to modify postures with props that many teachers don't have time to cover in a public class.
I'M NOT FLEXIBLE. IS YOGA STYILL FOR ME?
Absolutely! Yoga is for everyone who wants to participate and I'll even be talking about why flexibility is not remotely required.
About me
I've been the overwhelmed beginner. I know exactly what it's like to stand outside a yoga studio with your heart pounding, wondering if you're about to make a complete fool of yourself.
I also know how life-changing yoga can be when you actually give it a chance.
Yoga helped me navigate years of stress and anxiety - the kind where you wake up at 3am with your mind racing and your jaw clenched. It gave me tools I didn't know I needed and a steadiness I didn't think was possible.
And now? I'm committed to making sure the fear, confusion, and "will I look stupid?" thoughts don't keep anyone else from starting.
I teach weekly classes in Tampa, Florida at Jai Dee Yoga and Wellness and with the City of Tampa. I completed my 200-hour RYT at Bella Prana Yoga and Wellness Collective.
If you're yoga-curious but terrified to take that first step, you're in the right place. I'm here to make those first steps simpler, clearer, and so much less scary. Or if you are returning to yoga after some time away or in a body that is different than it was before, I can help make the transition back smoother and a lot less intimidating.
Take the first step toward a steadier, calmer you.
